A gentle seven-day guide
The Rest Reset
A week of small experiments to help your body recognize that the day is ending. No perfect bedtime required.
Use this as education, not treatment. Persistent insomnia, loud snoring, gasping during sleep, severe daytime sleepiness, or sudden sleep changes deserve a conversation with a qualified healthcare professional.
Before you begin
Choose an anchor
Pick a wake time you can keep within about one hour, including weekends. A steady morning often helps the body find a steadier night.
Notice, don't grade
This week is an experiment. Track what helps you feel calmer and more restored. A difficult night is information, not failure.
Your seven-day reset
Meet morning light
Spend 10–20 minutes near outdoor light within an hour of waking. Pair it with water, coffee, or a short walk.
Create a caffeine edge
Notice when caffeine ends today. Try leaving at least eight hours between your last caffeine and bedtime.
Build a closing ritual
Choose three quiet cues that can happen in the same order: dim lights, prepare tomorrow, wash up, stretch, read, or breathe.
Unload the mind
Write tomorrow's tasks and any looping thoughts before getting into bed. Give your brain a trusted place to put them.
Lower the signal
For the last 30–60 minutes, soften light and stimulation. Put the phone out of reach or choose a clear stopping time.
Release the effort
If sleep is not coming, stop trying to force it. Move to a dim, quiet place and do something gentle until sleepiness returns.
Keep what worked
Review the week. Choose the smallest two practices that made evenings calmer or mornings easier.
